Congregation Ahavath Israel, the congregation in residence at Touro, has its roots in Newport dating back to 1915. It is a warm, welcoming local Newport Congregation rooted in Torah tradition, committed to halacha, and inspired by the historic legacy of religious freedom and Jewish perseverance that Touro represents.
Service Times
Whether you’re a local resident, a visitor to Newport, or a student of Jewish heritage, you are warmly invited to participate in Shabbat prayers in a setting rich with American and Jewish history.
Shabbat prayer times throughout the summer season:
Friday evening: 7:00 pm
Saturday morning: 8:45 am
