No first-time visit to Newport is complete without a guided tour of Touro Synagogue.
Aaron Ginsburg, a Newport native, CAI member, published historian, and passionate Touro aficionado provides public tours on a regular basis.
Space is limited and registration is required. Expect to spend around 45 minutes on the tour.
Security: Visitors should avoid bringing large bags or packages into the building and be prepared for a security check upon arrival.
We regret that there are no public restrooms, no parking, and that our historic building is not handicap-accessible.
Admission:
$18 for adults | $10 for seniors (65+) and youth (under 13)
Alternatively, we do our best to accommodate private groups for a specific time or theme of focus. Private groups should be no greater than 25 participants and are asked to contribute a flat rate of $150 for groups up to 10, $250 for groups of 11-25 participants, and $300 for up to 50 participants. For larger groups (or if you prefer to limit the size of your group) we ask that you submit separate forms for back-to-back tours. Expect to spend around 45 minutes on the tour.
To arrange a tour for your group(s), please submit our form (click here) or contact our office manager at 212.873.0300 x230 at least two weeks prior to your planned visit. Please note that tours do not take place on major religious holidays.
Your tour is not confirmed until you hear back from us informing you that the arrangements are in place.
Security: Visitors should avoid bringing large bags or packages into the building and be prepared for a security check upon arrival.
We regret that there are no public restrooms, no parking, and that our historic building is not handicap-accessible.
